Testimonials

We invite you to read these testimonials written by the Senior Class of 2007 and you will hear for yourself the life changing experience they received at Denver Lutheran High School.

“I love DLHS because they showed me that I can actually achieve anything I put my mind to. They gave me the strength and courage to face my problems head on and not fall back into my old unhealthy habits. I also love the staff – they helped me so much and showed me how to grow closer to God. I love DLHS – it’s awesome.”
– Jason Faulkner, Class of 2007

“ My mom died during my sophomore year – worst time of my life. DLHS made me realize that I still have so much to live for and so many things to accomplish. They are a family until the end no matter what. I love them with all my heart and owe them my life.”
– Ryan Clark, Class of 2007

“ When I was in the 8th grade I had two best friends that were going to public school. I was being forced to go to DLHS by my parents. I tried explaining to them that I would do better at a bigger public school. . . I remember one day during my sophomore year – I was having a terrible day and was just in a downer mood. Not only did one teacher seek me out to talk, but three. I was amazed. I am so thankful now that my parents made me go there. Not only did DLHS prepare me for college, it helped prepare me for the rest of my life.”
– Faith Ahlman, Class of 2007

“ When you set foot on campus, you’ve set foot in your second home. Spending time at school is fun, and you get to know everybody on a much more personal level. It’s hard to look around DLHS and not see God present in every little part of it.”
– Federica Rabiolo, Class of 2007

“DLHS is special because it focuses on Christ and it still gives a great education. It is a small school, so you get to know everyone and have personal relationships with all the teachers. They genuinely care for your success. It is a great place to learn, make friends, and grow in your faith.”
– Matt Beach, Class of 2007

“I love DLHS because of the people here. It has been a blessing to be surrounded by Christian teachers, coaches, and classmates.”
– Katy Vanderhyde, Class of 2007

“ DLHS is a great place full of opportunities. You are challenged mentally, socially, physically, and encouraged spiritually. I can use the knowledge I have gained to prepare myself to achieve the goals I have set in my life.”
– Mitch Nathan, Class of 2007

“ What I love about DLHS is the size; it makes you feel significant, rather than just walking down the halls of some public school with thousands of kids. God used DLHS in my life to produce a lot of good. I became closer to Him, became more outgoing, but most of all I found out who I truly am. DLHS taught me how to study right, work right, and to be a better student.”
– Sean Utecht, Class of 2007

“DLHS is special because you get to be around teachers and other students who love God and you can pray with them without having to worry about getting in trouble. I love DLHS because I got to play sports and be involved.”
– Elyse Cattau, Class of 2007

“DLHS has prepared me for college. All the teachers have taught me about life and helped me become who I am today. They have become more than teachers to me. I knew that if I was ever struggling with anything, I could go to them and talk to them about it, and they would pray with me.”
– Laura Elmshauser, Class of 2007

“The faculty at DLHS pays attention to individual needs and does what they can do to help.”
– Laura Kirkegaard, Class of 2007

“The teachers and students at DLHS made me feel welcome and safe. The environment was so friendly and gave me the feeling that the school was a family.”
– Liz Worstell, Class of 2007

“There are a lot of things I didn’t realize about God until I came to DLHS. I have grown closer to Him through the Bible classes, yes, but also through the teachers and coaches who have helped me these past four years. They have continually reminded me of God’s love.”
– Elizabeth Weidner, Class of 2007

“I became a stronger person and a better person because of DLHS.”
– Mark Parrott, Class of 2007

“DLHS made me see God in a totally real way – different than I ever had before.”
– Sam Wyatt, Class of 2007

“ I did not know anyone who was going to DLHS. But when I got there, everyone made a point to get to know me.”
– Ashley Hopkins, Class of 2007

“DLHS has showed me the way to mature as both a person and a Christian. The faculty is willing to do whatever it takes to help you with anything you need.”
– Brice Mott, Class of 2007

“DLHS has helped me become closer to God while I was still getting a great education. I was able to play sports at the high school level. The school is small enough that I was able to have one-on-one time with the teachers, and it felt like they really cared about my success.”
– Tarin Mawhir, Class of 2007

“DLHS is special because of the learning environment – the teachers are good at using humor to help students learn – but they can be serious too, which is good.”
– Megan Unser, Class of 2007

“DLHS has everything, all the basics, plus Christ.”
– Joe Leintz, Class of 2007

“I loved DLHS because it is the place for God’s workmanship.”
– Burapha Sanguanwong, Class of 2007

“Before I came to DLHS and even during my freshmen year, I was a shy, mostly friendless kid who really didn’t have anything going for myself. I was in the choir that first year, which meant being in the musical chorus, and I got involved in drama. So the next year I tried out for a part and ended up getting one of the better parts in the show. I made a lot of really good friends and basically got a new family. God really changed me in a short time.”
– Alex Polzin, Class of 2007

“DLHS has truly been a blessing for me. Being at DLHS really helped to draw me back to God and gave me a heart for missions. I don’t know where I’d be today if God hadn’t brought me to DLHS, but I would definitely not be who I am today.”
– Graydon Mears , Class of 2007
