Our Belief | What is a Lutheran?

Our Belief

At Denver Lutheran High School, we are committed to helping all students grow in their faith in Jesus Christ and in living that faith daily. We involve our students in worship activities, service projects, and in thorough study of God's Word, while providing them with a broad range of academic studies and extracurricular activities in a Christ-centered environment.

Our goal is to create a unique Christ-centered community of learners. We live by the theme of repentance, forgiveness, and renewal in all school relationships. 2 Corinthians 5:14 and Matthew 18 are the basics of our theme. Christian principles guide all of student life-classes, sporting and special events, and relationships.

The students' participation in worship sets the tone for the day and demonstrates the school's unity of faith. Students help plan services, do the Bible readings, and perform in groups or choir. Students take one Bible class each year. In addition, the Bible is used to interpret and give meaning to every class. DLHS approaches every class from a Christian world-view perspective.

While one need not be a Lutheran to attend Denver Lutheran High School, the high school is part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
